Replacement Cabs for Service Life Extension (Refit)

Design and manufacture of a precisely fitting front cab for the mid-life upgrade of existing double-deck trains. The new cab had to be designed for speeds of up to 160 km/h. The cab is delivered to the customer including a bonded-in windshield.

Through high-precision reverse engineering, the GRP replacement cab fits exactly into the existing, 15-year-old mounting interfaces of the car body. This enables a resource-efficient service life extension of the fleet without the need for elaborate modifications to the vehicle structure.
