We develop once and support you from prototype through pre-series to multi-year series production. Integrated functions, reduced weight, long-term spare parts supply.

Certified. Tested. Ready for production.

Maximum robustness and series efficiency for long-life capital goods

Faserplast Composites AG manufactures maintenance-free, high-strength assemblies for construction machinery and industrial equipment such as mobile harbor cranes. They reduce operating weight and withstand the toughest conditions worldwide, from the precise prototype to reproducible high-volume series.

With over 25 years of experience manufacturing components for construction machinery and industrial environments, we know the requirements precisely

We deliver a series-ready product design and manufacture individual parts as well as assembled modules in consistent quality, reliably delivered straight to your assembly line. Our material selection proves itself in the field: in weather, UV radiation, vibration, stone impact and cleaning chemicals, across the entire machine service life. We factor in the full lifecycle of over 20 years, including spare parts and repairability, so there is no downtime.

Why Faserplast

Strategic system partner with full responsibility

We focus on being the composite partner that brings your project to success. This lets you concentrate on developing competitive machines and an efficient assembly line. We don’t supply GRP shells; we develop, manufacture and assemble complete assemblies, with integrated functions and mounting points, painted (including optional customization) or with a visible gelcoat finish.

Design freedom meets cost-efficiency

Designing surfaces as free-form shapes offers maximum design freedom without the production constraints of conventional sheet-metal construction. Especially for small and medium series, this process enables complex geometries, as tooling costs are significantly lower than in metal fabrication.

Structural advantages in tough applications

In daily construction-site use, the material excels through high fatigue strength and dimensional stability. GRP structures effectively absorb oscillations and vibrations, extending the service life of the entire machine. Thanks to their natural elasticity, components always return to their original shape even after heavy loads. Because complex contours are manufactured as a single, seamless component, structural integrity increases while overall weight is reduced.

Integrated functionality as a system solution

Already during the lamination process, we integrate additional technical functions directly into the component, such as effective acoustic insulation for noise-sensitive areas, heat shields for engine-compartment applications, pre-installed ventilation grilles, and precisely positioned fittings and fasteners. These plug-and-play modules are delivered ready for assembly to production, which shortens cycle times and significantly reduces complexity in final assembly. Renowned manufacturers such as Liebherr already use these solutions successfully for mobile harbor cranes and wheel loader engine hoods.

From prototype to series, all from a single source

We develop your component once. For prototype, pre-series and ongoing series we use the same tool for hand lamination and vacuum infusion, which keeps tooling costs low. If higher volumes require a different process, we continue with our in-house presses using SMC or wet pressing, without switching external partners. This way we assign the most economical process to each phase. We ensure the seamless transfer from the first concept phase to scaled series production through standardized processes and continuous documentation. Through the close integration of in-house engineering and in-house toolmaking on our three high-precision CNC machining centers, we keep the initial phase short and align assembly jigs and production aids early with the later series. Short decision paths and the elimination of external interfaces minimize the risk of technical misunderstandings and accelerate time to market at the highest process stability.

Measurable. Not just a promise.

Where the benefit lies

20 – 60 %

less weight

A composite construction instead of a sheet-steel or welded structure significantly reduces operating weight, with a direct effect on payload, center of gravity and transport.

maintenance-free

corrosion-free over the service life

GRP does not rust and remains dimensionally and functionally stable in continuous use with dirt, salt and weather, without maintenance of corrosion protection.

up to 8x

lower tooling costs compared to deep-drawing or compression-molding tools

For small and medium series, our tools amortize faster than those of alternative GRP processes, with full design freedom.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions
from purchasing and engineering

Yes, in principle we also support our customers with individual parts and build-to-print projects. Our expertise in material selection and our commitment to quality in production ensure that here, too, you receive the optimal product.

Faserplast manufactures in Switzerland, Poland, and the USA. Depending on the platform and contract region, value creation takes place at the appropriate location.

Our goal is your project success. As a partner on equal footing, we see our role as bringing your project to success with composite solutions — technically, economically, and on schedule. You provide the industrial design, and we develop the assemblies. As a system supplier, we reduce interfaces and risk — because we ensure the fit through our assembly.

Composite is corrosion-free, lighter and offers complete design freedom for industrial design. Especially for small and medium series, tooling costs are significantly lower than in metal fabrication, and the components withstand continuous use across the entire machine service life. Compared to deep-drawn or compression-molded parts, the one-time costs of our processes are lower.

There is no rigid minimum quantity. We handle series projects ranging from 10 to 800 parts per year. What matters is that engineering and tooling amortize over the series. We produce small and medium series using hand lamination and infusion, higher volumes with SMC or wet pressing, so the component remains economical across the entire volume range.

GRP structures have high fatigue strength and dimensional stability, absorb oscillations and vibrations, and thanks to their natural elasticity return to their original shape even after heavy loads. Seamlessly manufactured contours increase structural integrity at reduced weight.

Already during the lamination process, we integrate sound insulation, heat shields for the engine compartment, pre-assembled ventilation grilles as well as precisely positioned fittings and fastening elements. The assembly is delivered as a plug-and-play module, ready for your line.

Yes. We deliver fully painted system assemblies in your colors and surface quality, according to RAL or customer-specific.

By interlinking in-house engineering and our own toolmaking, we keep the initial phase short. Prototypes and pre-series are produced flexibly in Switzerland or Poland, and standardized processes ensure a seamless transfer to scaled series production with accelerated time to market.
